Full participant FAQ
How do I join an auction?

Create or sign in to your IETA account. Open a live or upcoming horse lot, read its terms, and complete the displayed deposit and any required verification. Your auction dashboard shows your participation status.

How much is the deposit, and when can I bid?

The required amount is shown on each horse lot before payment. Bidding requires a confirmed deposit and any verification required by IETA. A submitted or pending payment request does not by itself enable bidding.

What happens to my deposit if I do not win?

Non-winning deposits follow the refund eligibility and processing terms for that auction. A winning deposit may be held for settlement. Check your dashboard and contact IETA for the applicable timeline; do not assume an immediate or automatic refund.

Are there fees or other costs?

Review the specific lot terms for fees, taxes, payment deadlines and any inspection or transport costs. Do not assume these are included in the displayed bid. Ask IETA to clarify any missing costs before participating.

How do bid increments and reserves work?

Each auction has a minimum increment. The lot page shows the required next bid and the server validates it when submitted. A reserve is the seller’s minimum acceptable outcome; leading the bidding does not alone confirm a sale. IETA confirms the result.

Can the closing time change?

An auction may extend when a qualifying bid arrives near its closing time and anti-sniping protection is enabled. Always check the latest closing time on the lot page rather than relying on an earlier screenshot or message.

Can I inspect the horse and its documents?

Review the available photos, video, horse details and supporting documents. Ask IETA about inspection, veterinary records, ownership records and viewing arrangements before bidding. Only documents actually supplied for the lot should be treated as available.

What happens after I win?

Wait for IETA’s result confirmation and settlement instructions. The team coordinates the applicable payment deadline, documents and buyer–seller introduction. Confirm transport and handover arrangements separately.

Can I withdraw a bid or report a problem?

Treat every bid as a serious commitment. Read the lot’s cancellation and dispute terms before submitting. If you make an error or notice a problem, contact IETA promptly; do not assume a bid can be withdrawn.

How do I submit a horse for auction?

Use List a horse to provide accurate horse details, clear media, ownership information, your proposed auction terms and schedule. Submissions go through IETA’s review process; submission is not a guarantee of publication or sale.
